It is commonly found in coastal areas and has distinctive red peeling bark, which gives it the nickname 'tourist tree.' The Gumbo Limbo tree can reach a height of 60-70 feet and has a spread of approximately 30-40 feet. Its large, umbrella-shaped canopy provides shade and the tree bears small greenish flowers and red berry-like fruits.
