Carex bicknellii, commonly known as Prairie Oval Sedge grass, is a perennial sedge grass native to North America. It forms dense clumps of slender, arching, dark green leaves that provide an attractive, fine-textured groundcover. In late spring, it produces inconspicuous flowers that give way to small seedheads. It is a low-maintenance plant that thrives in moist to wet soils and is well-suited for prairies, meadows, and rain gardens.
