Carex intumescens (Bladder Sedge)

Carex intumescens, commonly known as Bladder Sedge, is a species of wetland grass that is native to North America. This grass is characterized by its unique inflated sheaths, or bladders, at the base of its stems. It forms dense clumps and produces elongated, arching leaves. In late spring, it also produces small, inconspicuous flowers. Bladder Sedge is commonly found in wetland areas, such as marshes, swamps, and along stream banks.
