Carex rostrata, commonly known as Beaked Sedge grass, is a perennial plant that belongs to the Cyperaceae family. It has long, narrow, dark green leaves with characteristic beak-like spikelets at the tips. This grass is native to wetland areas and is commonly found in marshes, bogs, and along the edges of streams and ponds. It forms dense clumps and provides good cover for wetland wildlife. Beaked Sedge grass blooms in the summer, producing small brownish-green flowers on spikelets held above the foliage. It can grow up to 2-3 feet in height with a spread of 1-2 feet.
