Carex scoparia, commonly known as Lance-fruited oval sedge grass, is a perennial grass species native to North America. Its dense clumps of slender green foliage create an attractive groundcover. In late spring, small oval-shaped spikes rise above the foliage, bearing inconspicuous flowers. This grass species is suited for wetland areas and can serve as an excellent erosion control plant.
