Carpinus caucasica (European/Caucasian Hornbeam)

Carpinus caucasica, commonly known as European or Caucasian Hornbeam, is a deciduous tree native to Europe and the Caucasus region. It is known for its compact, upright growth habit and attractive foliage. The leaves are dark green and oval in shape, turning yellow-orange in the fall. It produces inconspicuous catkins in the spring.
