Carpinus laxiflora (Oriental/Japanese/Farges Hornbeam)

Carpinus laxiflora, commonly known as Oriental Hornbeam, Japanese Hornbeam, or Farges Hornbeam, is a deciduous tree native to Japan and parts of eastern China. It is known for its attractive foliage and distinctive branching pattern. The leaves are oval-shaped, serrated, and glossy green, turning yellow-orange in the fall. The bark is smooth and gray, with a fluted texture. Oriental Hornbeam can grow up to 40 feet in height with a spread of 30 feet.
