Celastrus scandens (American Bittersweet Vine)
Celastrus scandens, commonly known as American Bittersweet Vine, is a deciduous perennial vine native to North America. It is a twining plant that climbs by winding its stems around objects and can reach heights of up to 20 feet or more. The leaves are oval-shaped, smooth, and glossy green in color. The flowers are small and greenish-yellow, and in the fall, they are replaced by reddish-orange fruits that split open to reveal bright red berries.
