Cephalocereus senilis (Mexican Old Man Cactus)
Cephalocereus senilis, commonly known as the Mexican Old Man Cactus, is a unique and distinctive columnar cactus. This cactus species is instantly recognizable for its long, shaggy, white hairs that cover the entire plant, giving it the appearance of an 'old man'. The sharp spines of the cactus are hidden beneath this dense hair, protecting it from predators and extreme temperatures. Native to central Mexico, the Mexican Old Man Cactus can reach a height of up to 12 feet and has a columnar shape with a diameter of around 4-6 inches.
