Cimicifuga simplex 'Brunette' (Black Snakeroot/Bugbane)

Cimicifuga simplex 'Brunette', commonly known as Black Snakeroot or Bugbane, is an herbaceous perennial plant native to North America. It features deeply lobed, dark purple foliage that provides a striking contrast in the garden. In late summer to early fall, tall spikes of fragrant white flowers rise above the foliage, attracting pollinators to the garden. This cultivar reaches a height of approximately 6 feet and spreads to about 3 feet.
