Claytonia virginica (Spring Beauty wildflower)

Claytonia virginica, commonly known as Spring Beauty wildflower, is a perennial herbaceous plant that belongs to the Portulacaceae family. It is native to eastern North America and is often found in moist woodlands and meadows. Spring Beauty wildflower grows up to 6-12 inches in height and spreads to about 6-8 inches in width. It produces delicate, pale pink or white flowers with distinct magenta-striped petals that bloom in early spring. The flowers contrast beautifully against the plant's narrow, lance-shaped leaves.
