Cooperia pendunculata (Prairie Lily, Rainlily)

Cooperia pendunculata, commonly known as Prairie Lily or Rainlily, is a perennial bulbous plant belonging to the Amaryllis family. It is native to the southern United States and Mexico. The plant produces beautiful white or pink funnel-shaped flowers that bloom in late spring or early summer, often after rainfall. The flowers have six petals and a slightly sweet fragrance. Prairie Lily grows up to 12-18 inches in height and has a spread of about 6 inches. It prefers well-drained soils, and its underground bulbs allow it to withstand dry periods.
