Epimedium pinnatum (Barrenwort)

Epimedium pinnatum, commonly known as Barrenwort, Persian E., or Bishop's Hat, is a beautiful perennial plant that belongs to the family Berberidaceae. It is native to Iran and Turkey. This plant is well-known for its delicate, heart-shaped leaves and dainty flowers that come in shades of white, pink, or purple. It forms clumps of foliage that provide an attractive groundcover in shaded areas of the garden. Barrenwort typically reaches a height of 12-18 inches and a width of 12-24 inches.
