Erythronium americanum (Trout Lily)

Erythronium americanum, commonly known as Trout Lily, is a wildflower native to North America. It features solitary yellow flowers with brownish mottling resembling the patterns found on trout, which gives it its common name. The plants have two leaves that are mottled, also resembling the patterns found on trout. This perennial wildflower typically blooms in early spring and grows in moist woodland areas.
