Fraxinus velutina 'Fan Tex' (Rio Grande Ash)

Fraxinus velutina 'Fan Tex', also known as Rio Grande Ash, is a fast-growing deciduous tree native to southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It has dark green leaves that turn yellow in the fall. The tree produces clusters of small black seeds that are often dispersed by wind. 'Fan Tex' is a selected cultivar known for its dense foliage and excellent tolerance to heat and drought.
