Fritillaria lanceolata (Lance Leaf, Whorl, Chocolate Lily)
Fritillaria lanceolata, commonly known as Lance Leaf, Whorl, or Chocolate Lily, is a beautiful perennial wildflower native to western North America. It has lance-shaped leaves whorled around a tall, erect stem topped with a cluster of bell-shaped flowers. The flowers are uniquely colored in shades of maroon or purple with a checkerboard pattern in cream or yellow. Blooming in late spring to early summer, Chocolate Lily attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
