Havardia (Pithecellobium) pallens, also known as Tenaza, is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree native to Mexico and the southwestern United States. It is characterized by its thorny branches and dark green, compound leaves. During the blooming season, Tenaza produces clusters of small, fragrant flowers that are typically white or cream in color. After the flowering period, oblong seed pods develop, which contain dark brown seeds.
