Hesperis matronalis, commonly known as White Dame's Rocket or Sweet Rocket, is a biennial or short-lived perennial flower native to Eurasia. The plant grows up to 3-4 feet tall with dense clusters of fragrant, four-petaled white flowers in late spring or early summer. The leaves are lance-shaped and slightly hairy. It is widely cultivated for its lovely blooms and pleasant fragrance, often used in cottage gardens or in naturalized areas. The plant is highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
