Hippuris vulgaris (Common Mare's Tail / Horsetail)

Hippuris vulgaris, commonly known as Common Mare's Tail or Horsetail, is a perennial aquatic plant that is native to Europe, Asia, and North America. It belongs to the family Equisetaceae and is characterized by its tall, cylindrical, hollow stems with whorls of slender, needle-like leaves. The plant produces inconspicuous flowers that are borne on separate male and female plants. It forms dense colonies in shallow wetlands and along the edges of ponds and streams, providing important habitat for various aquatic organisms. Common Mare's Tail can grow up to 100 cm in height.
