Kalmia angustifolia (Lambkill/Sheep Laurel)

Kalmia angustifolia, commonly known as Lambkill or Sheep Laurel, is a small evergreen shrub native to eastern North America. It has glossy, dark green leaves and produces clusters of beautiful pink flowers in late spring to early summer. The plant gets its common names from its toxic qualities to sheep and other livestock. It prefers acidic soils and is commonly found in woodlands and rocky slopes.
