Kalmia latifolia (Mountain-laurel)

Kalmia latifolia, commonly known as Mountain-laurel, is a clump or multistem shrub that belongs to the Ericaceae family. This evergreen shrub is native to eastern North America and is famous for its beautiful clusters of showy pink or white flowers. The foliage of the Mountain-laurel is glossy and dark green, adding to its ornamental value. It grows in acidic, well-drained soils and prefers partial shade to full sun.
