Krugiodendron ferreum (Black Ironwood/Leadwood)

Krugiodendron ferreum, also known as Black Ironwood or Leadwood, is a slow-growing, evergreen tree native to the Caribbean and Central America. It has a dense, dark green foliage and produces small, inconspicuous flowers. The wood of this tree is incredibly dense and heavy, hence the common name 'Black Ironwood'. It is known to be extremely durable and resistant to decay.
