Ligustrum amurense (River Privet, Chinese Privet)

Ligustrum amurense, commonly known as River Privet or Chinese Privet, is a deciduous shrub that can reach a height of 15 feet. It is a popular choice for hedges and screens due to its dense foliage and fast growth rate. The leaves are oval-shaped and measure around 2 inches in length. In late spring, the shrub produces small, white flowers that are highly fragrant. After the flowers fade, black berries develop and persist into the winter. River Privet is hardy in zones 4-7.
