Lindera angustifolia (Oriental Spicebush)
Lindera angustifolia, commonly known as Oriental Spicebush, is a deciduous shrub native to eastern Asia. It is valued for its aromatic leaves and twigs that emit a spicy fragrance when crushed. The leaves are narrow and lance-shaped, and turn a beautiful golden yellow in the fall. Small clusters of tiny yellow flowers bloom in spring, followed by red fruit that attracts birds. Oriental Spicebush is a moderate-sized shrub that typically grows to a height and width of 6-8 feet.
