Lyonothamnus floribundus (Catalina Ironwood)

Lyonothamnus floribundus, commonly known as the Catalina Ironwood, is a unique tree endemic to Santa Catalina Island, California. It is known for its beautiful evergreen foliage and striking peeling reddish bark. The tree produces dense clusters of creamy white flowers in the springtime, followed by small brown seed capsules. This slow-growing tree can reach heights between 20 and 35 feet, with a spread of 15 feet.
