Lysiloma latisiliqua, commonly known as Wild Tamarind, is a large deciduous tree that can reach heights of up to 60 feet. It is native to the Caribbean and Central America. The tree has a spreading canopy and multiple trunks with smooth gray bark. The leaves are compound and feathery, with small leaflets that provide dappled shade beneath the tree. Wild Tamarind produces small yellow flowers that are followed by twisted seed pods.
