Panicum amarum (Coastal Bitter Panic Grass)

Panicum amarum, commonly known as Coastal Bitter Panic Grass, is a perennial grass native to coastal areas with sandy and salty soil. It is a tough plant that can thrive in harsh conditions and is often found in beach dunes and coastal salt marshes. It forms clumps of narrow, deep green foliage and produces tall, erect flower spikes in the summer. The plant gets its name from the bitter taste of its foliage.
