Parkinsonia floridum (Blue Palo Verde)

Parkinsonia floridum, commonly known as Blue Palo Verde, is a small to medium-sized semi-deciduous tree native to the southwestern United States and Mexico. Its most striking feature is its smooth, greenish-blue bark, which peels away in thin sheets. The tree produces bright yellow flowers in the spring, followed by seed pods that are dark brown and contain small, bean-like seeds. Blue Palo Verde prefers full sun and well-drained soil.
