Physocarpus malvaceous (Mallow Ninebark)

Physocarpus malvaceous, commonly known as Mallow Ninebark, is a deciduous shrub that belongs to the Rosaceae family. This shrub is native to North America and is characterized by its unique bark that peels off in thin layers, revealing a reddish-brown inner bark. The leaves are green and serrated, turning red or purple in the fall. Mallow Ninebark produces clusters of white or pinkish flowers in late spring, followed by small reddish fruit in the summer. It grows to a height of 4-6 feet and has a similar width.
