Polygonum punctatum (Dotten Smartweed)

Polygonum punctatum, commonly known as Dotten Smartweed, is a perennial herbaceous plant that belongs to the buckwheat family. It typically grows in moist or wet areas such as marshes, riverbanks, and ditches. Dotten Smartweed features oblong leaves that are dark green with distinct purple spots. The flowers are small and pink or white, forming in dense clusters on the top of the plant. This plant can reach a height of 2 to 3 feet and has a spread of about 1 to 2 feet.
