Poterium sanguisorba (Garden/Salad Burnet)

Poterium sanguisorba, commonly known as Garden/Salad Burnet, is an herbaceous plant with deeply-clefted leaves that bear a strong resemblance to fern fronds. It produces small, reddish-purple flowers in dense clusters on tall stems during the summer months. The leaves and young shoots of this plant are commonly used in salads and as a garnish due to their refreshing cucumber-like flavor. Garden/Salad Burnet prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil.
