Prunus padus, commonly known as Redleaf May Day or Birdcherry, is a deciduous tree native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. It is known for its beautiful red foliage in spring, followed by clusters of small white flowers that attract birds and pollinators. The tree can reach a height of 30-50 feet and has a spreading crown. Its dark purple to black cherry-like fruits are often consumed by birds. This tree is hardy in zone 3.
