Prunus serotina, commonly known as the Escarpment Black Cherry, is a deciduous tree native to North America. It has dark green, serrated leaves and produces small clusters of white flowers in the spring, followed by black cherries in the summer. The tree is often found growing on slopes and cliffs, hence its name 'Escarpment'. It provides habitat for birds and wildlife and is also cultivated for its ornamental value.
