Prunus subhirtella (Spring/Higan/Rosebud Cherry)

Prunus subhirtella, commonly known as Spring Cherry, Higan Cherry or Rosebud Cherry, is a deciduous tree native to Japan. It is a small to medium-sized tree that typically grows 20-30 feet tall and wide. In early spring, it produces profuse, slightly fragrant, pale pink to white blossoms that cover the branches, creating a beautiful display. The leaves are green and oval-shaped, turning yellow or red in the fall.
