Rhapidophyllum hystrix (Needle Palm)
The Needle Palm, also known as Rhapidophyllum hystrix, is a small evergreen palm native to the southeastern United States. It is a slow-growing plant with a dense cluster of long, stiff, palmate leaves that resemble needles, hence its common name. The Needle Palm can withstand harsh conditions such as drought, extreme heat, and cold temperatures, making it an excellent choice for landscapes in USDA hardiness zones 7b and below.
