Salix interior (Sandbar Willow)

Salix interior, commonly known as Sandbar Willow, is a deciduous shrub that forms dense thickets. It has narrow, lance-shaped leaves that are green on top and lighter underneath. In early spring, it produces catkins, which are long cylindrical clusters of flowers. Sandbar Willow is tolerant of wet conditions and is often found in riparian areas along rivers and streams.
