Scutellaria altissima (Tall Skullcap)

Scutellaria altissima, commonly known as Tall Skullcap, is a perennial herb that belongs to the mint family, Lamiaceae. It has slender stems with opposite, ovate leaves that are toothed. The plant produces long spikes of beautiful lavender-blue flowers in the summer, attracting bees and butterflies to the garden. It grows up to 3-4 feet in height, forming a dense clump with a spread of around 2-3 feet.
