Securinega suffruticosa (Fountain Hardhack)

Fountain Hardhack, also known as Securinega suffruticosa, is a deciduous shrub that belongs to the family Phyllanthaceae. It grows in a fountain-like shape, hence the name, with slender, arching branches. The leaves are oval-shaped and dark green, turning yellow in the fall. Small, inconspicuous flowers appear in late spring. It is native to North America and is commonly found in wetlands and along stream banks.
