Silphium perfoliatum (Cup Plant)

Silphium perfoliatum, commonly known as Cup Plant, is a wildflower native to North America. It is a tall perennial plant that can reach a height of 3 to 10 feet. Cup Plant is characterized by its opposite, triangular leaves that join around the stem to form a cup-like structure, hence its name. It produces bright yellow flowers in late summer, attracting various pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
