The 'Regent' cultivar of Sophora japonica, also known as the Jap. Pagodatree or Scholar-tree, is a deciduous tree native to eastern Asia. It is characterized by its showy clusters of fragrant white flowers that bloom in late summer, followed by small, pea-like seed pods. The foliage consists of pinnately compound leaves with an attractive dark green color that turn yellow in the fall. 'Regent' is a medium-sized tree with a spreading growth habit.
