Stewartia gemmata, commonly known as the Ruby Camellia Tree, is a deciduous tree with stunning, dark red flowers that resemble camellias. This rare and beautiful tree is native to Japan and Korea. It has a graceful, upright form with attractive gray-brown bark that exfoliates to reveal patches of orange and cinnamon-colored inner bark. In autumn, the foliage turns a vibrant mix of orange, red, and purple.
