Strobilanthes kunthianus (Neelakurinji)

Strobilanthes kunthianus, commonly known as Neelakurinji, is a small shrub with lavender-colored flowers. Native to the Western Ghats in India, it is known for its unique blooming pattern. Neelakurinji flowers only once in every 12 years, creating a stunning spectacle of purplish blue all over the hills. It grows up to a height of 3 to 4 feet and has a spread of about 2 to 3 feet.
