Ungnadia speciosa (Mexican Buckeye)
Ungnadia speciosa, commonly known as Mexican Buckeye, is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is known for its showy pink flowers that bloom in early spring, followed by brown seed pods that split open to reveal shiny red seeds. The leaves are compound with 5-7 leaflets that turn yellow in the fall. This tree is an excellent choice for xeriscapes and can tolerate alkaline soils.
