Vaccinium arboreum (Farkleberry/Sparkleberry)

Vaccinium arboreum, commonly known as Farkleberry or Sparkleberry, is a deciduous shrub native to the southeastern United States. It is a member of the blueberry family and produces small, dark purple berries. The shrub has glossy green leaves with a serrated edge, and it blooms with small white flowers in the spring. Farkleberry/Sparkleberry is known for its multi-stemmed growth habit and can reach a height of 15-20 feet when mature.
