Viola sororia (Meadow Violet)

Viola sororia, commonly known as Meadow Violet, is a native perennial wildflower found in meadows and woodlands. It features beautiful deep purple flowers with yellow centers that bloom in early spring. The heart-shaped leaves are smooth and bright green. This plant forms clusters and spreads by rhizomes, creating a dense ground cover. It reaches a height of around 6-10 inches and has a spread of 9-12 inches.
